Within these metal frame reels, a multi disc star drag system can be adjusted in every position required.
A line counter model is available in 500 and 600 sizes. Gears are assisted by 3 A-RB ball bearings plus a roller bearing.
You're off shore over the right mark on the right tide. Suddenly you're into a big fish and it's going deep. This would be a horrible time for your reel to seize, drag to stick or gears to jam. I bought this reel for salmon fishing, the counter helps me maintain a consistent distance behind my down rigger ball. It's very nice and smooth and I like the fresh water clean out port located on the line counter.
